The ContiProContact is an all-season grand touring tire — meaning it was designed to withstand all sorts of weather: dry, wet, and even light snow.

Now, while these tires can technically hold their own in almost every season, during severe weather (e.g., heavy snow, severe rainfall, and extreme heat), they might not be the best tires to use.

So if you plan on driving in wetter or snowier conditions, we suggest that you get a designated rain or snow tire for the job.

Still, because of ContiProContact’s symmetrical tread design combined with Continental’s state-of-the-art tread compound, these tires can maintain traction on moderately wet roads.

What’s more, interlocking sipes have been optimized to provide stability and great dry handling traction. Shoulder lugs also increase steering response.

Continental ContiProContact Hydroplaning Resistance

Looking at the ContiProContact, you’ll see that it’s been imbued with wide circumferential grooves and interlocking sipes.

Continental also uses a nifty technology in the ContiProContact called ProActiveEdge. This adds a total of 800 arched edges to the tire’s circumference.

All this improves wet surface traction and increases hydroplaning resistance.

Is the Continental ContiProContact Quiet?

Yes. The tire has a center rib groove that reduces the tread noise and vibration of a vehicle. In turn, this will result in a much more comfortable and quiet driving experience.

Can the Continental ContiProContact Handle High Speeds?

If you’re interested in high-speed driving, the ContiProContact might not be the best tire to look into.

Although it has a relatively good performance rating when it comes to high speeds, it doesn’t compare with other high-performance tire models.

Continental ContiProContact: The Pros and Cons

Like all tires, the Continental ContiProContact comes with its own set of advantages and disadvantages.

Let’s explore the various pros and cons of the ContiProContact.

The Pros:

  • Excellent traction

Thanks to Continental’s ProActiveEdge Technology, the ContiProContact can provide drivers with confident traction and steering on dry or wet surfaces.

  • Smooth and comfortable ride

The ContiProContact is designed to reduce vibration and noise, allowing drivers to travel over road imperfections without feeling a big nudge.

This is achieved with the help of ContiProContact’s road handling technologies that work together to provide drivers with a smoother ride.

  • Affordable and high-quality

The Continental ContiProContact has a great quality at an affordable price.

You can buy them at around $75 per tire. However, it’s recommended that you get them in a set, to avoid uneven wear.

The Cons:

  • Subpar winter performance

Although the ContiProContact is advertised as an all-season grand touring tire, it’s not the best tire to drive over snowy roads.

Sure, it isn’t the worst that we’ve seen, but it still could use a little improvement.

  • Short tread life

Tread life is a major factor to consider when you’re searching for replacement tires.

The Continental ContiProContact has a tread life of 60,000 miles to 80,000 miles — depending on the model you buy — which isn’t the longest tread life you can find on an all-season grand touring tire.

Which Vehicles Do the Continental ContiProContact Fit?
